Vidya Peetam a Hr. Secondary school, affiliated to C B S E New Delhi was founded by shri. T. S. Santhanam-Chairman of Brakes India Limited, TVS Group and is nurtured with care and concern by Sholinghur Development Trust with support from Brakes India Limited, TEL and other group compaines in Sholinghur area. The school was started to cater to the needs of employees of Brakes India and also for the local public. It is stepping into its 26th year of dedicated service in the field of education.
The main aim is “TO CREATE FREE HUMAN BEINGS WHO ARE ABLE
TO IMPART PURPOSE AND DIRECTION TO THEIR LIVES’
Further to the above, to impart the best of education with care, love and understanding with a view to instilling into children’s young minds early enough, the moral ethical values, strength of character, discipline, global outlook, firm faith in all religions and an abiding spirit of service and sacrifice, thus helping and encouraging them to develop a broader and healthier outlook.
The school was started on 15.6.1982 at No.36, Subbarao Street , Sholinghur with 52 pupils, 5 teaching staff and 5 non teaching staff .
At present we have 746 students, 45 staff members and 10 supporting Staff.
As there was constant request from parents to start Hr. Secondary (state board) for the benefit of their ward to get admission in the Professional courses in Tamil Nadu. Hr. Secondary was started on 20.9.2000. The first batch of 6 students passed out creditably in March 2002.
So far 9 batches of students have appeared for Hr. Secondary Exams and have come out successfully.
21 batches of students have appeared for AISSE (X) Examinations & have come out successfully.
16 batches of students have appeared for AISSCE (XII) and came out with flying colours.
All our Alumini are well placed all over the world.
As our school is situated in a semi-set up set up, Resource persons from various fields visit our school to give inputs to teachers & students to help in their development.
We are organizing various empowerment programme for our students for the wholesome personality development.
